Lecture, hybrid work management, and changes
The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a dramatic shift in we organize work. For many organizations, this has meant moving to a hybrid work model, with some employees working remotely and others coming into the office. This can be a challenge for managers.
After Covid: Hybrid
The Covid pandemic has upended the workplace in nearly every industry. For many companies, employees work remotely, at least part of the time. This shift has presented new challenges for managers, who must find ways to manage a workforce spread out across different locations effectively. One of the biggest challenges is simply staying connected with employees. When everyone is in the same office, it’s easy to have impromptu meetings or drop by someone’s desk for a quick chat. But when employees work remotely, managers must be more intentional about scheduling check-ins and maintaining open lines of communication. In this lecture, hybrid work techniques and how to deal with these as managers are core.
Remote workforce
Additionally, managers must find ways to keep remote employees engaged and motivated. Unfortunately, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution to these challenges; managers must discover what works best for their team. However, managers can successfully navigate the hybrid workplace by being open to new ideas and flexible.
Being a (new) manager in this era can be challenging, but managing a hybrid workforce can be successful with careful planning and communication. This hybrid work lecture also zooms in on the ‘soft’ side of managing.
